Draft for the lawyer - not yet in force
Privacy Policy
We collect the least we can, use it only to put you in touch with an owner, and delete it after 12 months.
Version: 24 October 2026 (draft)
In one lineMedium Term Stays introduces renters to owners. It is not a party to any stay, never holds money and never negotiates.
What we collect
- From a renter who sends an enquiry: name, mobile number, length of stay, move-in date, number of people, and which listing it was about.
- From an owner who lists a place: name, mobile number, email address, the listing details and photos.
- From anyone using the site: the usual technical details a web server sees (such as an IP address) to stop spam and abuse, and the list of places you saved, kept in your own browser only.
- We do not collect payment details. No payment goes through this site.
Why we collect it
- To call a renter about their dates and to pass their enquiry to the owner of that listing so the owner can call or message them.
- To limit how many enquiries a single person or connection can send, and to refuse enquiries with links, bank details or deposit requests.
- To run, protect and improve the site.
Who sees it
- We use what a renter enters to call them about their dates and to introduce them to the owner of that place. The owner may then call or message them. A copy stays with the site operator so enquiries can be checked and reports handled.
- An owner may use a renter's details only to reply about that enquiry, and must not add them to any list or pass them on.
- We do not sell or rent anyone's details, and we do not send marketing unless you have asked for it.
- We use a small number of service providers to run the site: web hosting and storage (Netlify), email, and a bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile). They may process details on our behalf and may store them outside Australia; they may not use them for anything else.
- The pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, the map from cdnjs and map pictures from OpenStreetMap. Like any website, these see the technical details your browser sends (such as an IP address), but none of them receives anything you type into a form.
- We disclose details when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries are deleted 12 months after they are sent.
- A listing's details are kept while the listing is live and for 12 months after it is removed.
- Reports about listings are kept for 2 years so repeat problems can be seen.
- An owner's sign-up form is kept for 2 years.
Your rights
- You can ask to see, correct or delete the details we hold about you. Email us at ngenvideos@gmail.com. We answer within 30 days.
- If you think we have mishandled your details and we have not fixed it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Cookies and tracking
- The site keeps your saved places and your last search (where, how long and budget) in your own browser. We do not use advertising trackers. If we add analytics, this policy will say so first.
Security
- Details are sent over an encrypted connection, stored on systems only the operator can reach, and never shown on any public page. No system is perfect; if a breach ever affects you, we will tell you.
Changes and contact
- We can change this policy; the date at the top shows the current version.
- We follow the Australian Privacy Principles whether or not the Privacy Act requires it of a business our size.
- The site is operated by nGen Videos (ABN 84 707 711 075), Melbourne, Victoria.
